This laptop is a top class notebook. Extremely thoughtful in its build and workmanship. Wireless port reaches way out of the sky. Beautiful LCD display. Rock solid and fast software performance. With it's battery saving options it runs much longer than my other machines. options. Software is more intuitive. When you want it, you can reinstall XP on it. Its light weight for its power. Great for anyone who migrated to Apple from Microsoft computers. It took 3 weeks to get comfortable with the OS but quickly learned the intuitive layout of where and what to do to accomplish desired commands and tasks and get online answers for the tougher stuff. I find myself much more on my Mac side of my computer than my XP side by choice.

It's the finest toy on the market (click the play button twice on the remote) - Any old external mouse makes beautiful right clicking not a ctrl+trackpad button issue. - Tiger has active window pictures now too! Not just the selection pictures and the screen pictures - A million toys - Neko Type-R, Stickies, iFlash, - BBEdit 8.7 and Dreamweaver CS3 work with each other - Replacing the MacBook HD doesn't void warranty unlike the Macbook Pro. I As simple as Mac is, I didn't know the shortcuts, anything at the shell, and only one or two places to get programs. About a year in, it was fast and efficient. Yet, at that time, they only gave access to one ram stick. Now, it's completely different. Corsair offers a 3GB 2 stick pack and Hitachi has a monster 16 MB Cache, 7200rpm, Sata150, 200GB drive that just waits to find a home in people's Macbooks. If I'd make any recommendations, it's that you google os x shortcuts and print out the page on Apple's site. Shortly after getting this laptop, I downloaded every free game on Apple's website and all the games that looked fun on another website. Have quite a few free games now. Battle for Wesnoth beta anyone? I also found that podcasts, and various video podcasts at iTunes U are completely free in iTunes. That was nice to see.

Review
The screen resolution is excellent, the memory and hard drive are substantial for the price and the workmanship and features are good. I have previously owned a Toshiba Satellite M30X-S171ST laptop and this notebook is a significant upgrade. I especially like the Supermulti DVD drive with Labelflash that works with 11 formats, and the wireless draft-N standard which will permit much higher wireless speeds. I use my laptop primarily when I travel to keep in touch with news, weather, market reports and occasionally for some business. I have noticed the Windows Vista Premium installed does have a few delays and this could also be attributed to the 4200 speed for the hard drive, but for my purposes this is an excellent laptop. I would recommend it to anyone wanting a desktop replacement with a 17 inch widescreen, while realizing this will incur some additional weight. There are two other members in the Toshiba P205 family with different tweaks and features that may interest others, but this one is fine for me.

I use this Macbook with 2 Gb RAM to manage Apple, Linux and Windows servers and it works very well for me. I have it setup to dual boot OS X/Vista Ultimate. The Bootcamp drivers work very well and my Vista scores are: Base: 3.1 Processor: 4.9 Memory: (2GB) 4.5 Graphics Aero: 3.2 Graphics Gaming: 3.1 Primary HD: 4.9 This little MacBook will handle almost anything you throw at it. Games will not look as good but are playable. If you are a college student I wholeheartedly recommend the Macbook.

Let me start with how surprised I was after benchmarking tests. This notebook is extremely powerful for it's super thin super light design. Multiple USB ports (3). I found the keyboard very comfortable and spaced out very well. external volume, and audio controls came in very useful.
Overall I enjoy this notebook very much, The hardware is great - Centrino Duo, 2 Gb ram, 200 Gb HD, DVD burner. Very good notebook for the price.

This is an excellent laptop. Battery lasts about 4-5 hours. OS X is simply amazing; organized, easy and beautiful interface, great feel for they keyboard, trackpad and its scrolling methods (2 fingers = scroll up/down). Wireless N Airport, easy volume buttons, all software "just works". This Macbook is equipped with a powerful processor Intel Core 2 Duo T7400, 1Gb RAM is adequate. The desktop is customizable. Slot-loading DVD-RW drive is nice. The "Front Row" remote is a cool feature. Built-in iSight for video chatting. Finder is pretty nice, much more useful than a generic "search" feature in XP. There is also bootcamp if you want to use XP or vista (i installed windows XP for about 10 min and then immediately deleted it). Bootcamp is great; you can re-partition the hard drive to fit windows or delete windows and assign the space back to OS X with literally the click of a button. The CPU is pretty quick; I run Super Pi for 1M calculation in about 30 seconds.

Good Things
Light, good speakers for a laptop, screen resolution is phenomenal, the performance is superb even with Vista, easy to transfer old computer files, sound volume control and headphone jacks right in front of the computer. Everything is easy to reach, USB ports on side while volume controls and video play/fastforward/rewind/stop buttons right on the keypad.

Bad Things
Pre-installed with many softwares that may not be useful for many common users. The keyboard layout is really strange. The power and media control buttons take up about 2.5" of space on the side that should have been used for the keyboard. Windows and right mouse button in the top-right, INS and DEL the bottom. Also, volume control is a wheel at the front of the laptop, I sometimes brush against it if the laptop is on my lap, which is a mild nuisance. Battery seems a bit loose, but I have not had any problems yet.

Review
Great laptop! Vista has slick interface and is network-friendly. Core 2 Duo T7300 is fast. Although not top-notch, nVidia GeForce 8600 GS great at gaming, especially once the memory is upgraded to 2 Gb. Can play most games on high settings (like Halo, Call of Duty 2, F.E.A.R., Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault), although not always maxed out. Great display at 1280x800 (though quality drops drastically at anything lower). Accompanying case fits all my accessories as well as the laptop. Some of the preinstalled softwares, such as the hotkey functions, Power4Gear (power-saving) software, and wireless on/off switch (hotkey function) are pretty handy. 4 USB ports located on 3 sides of case. Webcam is good quality and can swivel; Asus also includes some additional software for it. Hard drive speed is adequate. Disk drive reads and writes fine, although it can get a bit noisy. Wireless works OK. Memory card reader very handy.

Review
If you bike, backpack or just want a tough laptop with good specs on the cheap, here it is! Rollcage, Black Titanium case. Crisp color reproduction excellent for a laptop and the fast video card is enough to play DVDs fullscreen with no jitter and play games with no stutter. DVD burner and 120GB storage, airbag hard drive system... Has biometric finger-print scanner! No more passwords to type...... :) Sweetness.

Review
My first impression is the screen is bright and colourful than most notebooks. It feel very light weight at 4.07 lbs. Vista run quite fast. After using it for 2 hours, the battery does not get too hot, so it would sit quite comfortably in your lap for many hours. Nice battery life.
